- Details: Friends of Family Health Center is a non-profit, Federally Qualified Community Clinic committed to fulfilling the healthcare needs of insured and uninsured individuals and families. Originally founded in 1996 by Institute for Healthcare Advancement, Friends of Family Health Center began its operation as a small community pediatric center under the name of Friends of Children Health Center. Later in 2009, due to increased demand for healthcare services by underserved community members, the clinic expanded its services to all ages and changed its name to Friends of Family Health Center. In mid-2012, Friends of Family Health Center received its designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and became a completely independent non-profit organization.

ParkTree was founded in 1995 as the “Pomona Clinic Coalition” by Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and other local healthcare providers in response to the burgeoning indigent and working poor population in the eastern end of Los Angeles County and to address the region’s lack of adequate public health infrastructure. The organization was incorporated in 2005, received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2007 and started its first year as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status in 2014. The health center was the vision of Dr. Jamie Garcia and founded with her spirit of heart and hope.
