The Philip Dorn Respite Center, located in Concord, is a respite care program for homeless adults who are discharging from local hospitals and require medical stabilization services. Respite care refers to recuperative services for those homeless persons who may not meet medical criteria for hospitalization, but who are too sick or medically vulnerable to reside in an emergency shelter and cannot be returned to the streets. Clients are only admitted when discharged from a hospital; walk-ins are not accepted. Refer a client to the Philip Dorn Respite Center. This program is a joint effort between the Homeless Program and Health Care for the Homeless. The primary goal of this program and all emergency housing programs is to get homeless persons off of the street and help them achieve their highest level of self-sufficiency.
